Quote to Live By: “Daily appreciate all your blessings.”

Lois retired from the Cayuga Medical Center in 1992. Her life, devoted to helping people in need, she started to work part-time for the Salvation Army. When I arrived as the Officer in charge in 1996, I was deeply impressed by her dedication to the destitute of our community, and asked her to take on the full time responsibilities as Office Manager, and she agreed. Amongst numerous health problems, she continued working for me until she retired a "second" time in 2007, and "STILL" continues working 4 days a week as s volunteer. Lois was a friend to everyone who came in for assistance. She knew everybody in town it seemed, and treated everyone with dignity, and the special kind of love, that came directly from her heart ! She has never wanted, nor received to my knowledge, any recognition for this kind of exceptional service to the people of Tompkins County. I believe this award could have been created just for Lois, because she is definately one of the 20 Outstanding Women You Should Know.
